2009 MCBA Annual Meeting

The Eighty Fifth Annual Meeting of the Marion County Baptist Association was held on September 8,2009 at Hackleburg First Baptist. A total of 68 messengers were registered. Fifteen of twenty-two MCBA churches were represented.

The messengers passed the largest budget in MCBA history of $150,418.90. About 80% of this figure is funneled back into mission ministries designed to support and help the local church.

Rev Ricky Mann, Pastor of Hines Baptist Church, spoke on the Doctrine of Salvation reminding us that God chooses many instruments to proclaim the Gospel but only one way of salvation, by the blood of Jesus the Christ. Dr. Charles Ballew presented the Mission Message from the Parable of the Sower, Matthew Chapter 13. He called for a greater determination of individuals and churches to sow the seed of salvation in our communities by greater cooperation of the churches of MCBA.

Hackleburg First Baptist provided a delicious meal. Other personalities on the program were Dr. Bob Perry, Editor of the Alabama Baptist Newspaper and Mrs. Sonya Tucker, ALSBOM Missionary.
